Nature’s Pharma® Celebrates a Decade of Innovation April 8th by Introducing Deepline Lift™

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ten-Year Anniversary of Southern California Skin Care Company

Features Dramatic New Product Launch

Nature’s Pharma® Celebrates a Decade of Innovation April 8th by Introducing Deepline Lift

(Irvine, CA) April 8, 2012 – The tenth anniversary of Nature’s Pharma®, a Southern California skin care company, comes with the introduction of an exclusive new product designed to reduce wrinkles in skin damaged by age and the elements. Deepline Lift™ Anti-Aging Cream represents the company’s most effective innovation for the reduction of wrinkles. Deepline Lift™ is rich in vitamins and minerals which stimulate cellular growth, rejuvenating skin cells directly at the molecular level.

Deepline Lift™ provides the optimal result from a cream in the treatment of aging and over-stressed skin. Produced in a rich base utilizing a powerful, proprietary system to combine anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory’s, essential oils, and vitamins, Deepline Lift™ delivers essential fatty acids which exfoliate dead skin cells from the epidermal layer for a more youthful appearance.

Since its inception, Nature’s Pharma® has invested a decade establishing a new science of skincare. As consumers choose from a burgeoning group of skincare providers, an increasing number have become loyal to Nature’s Pharma® and its ability to continually design and produce healing skincare products that improve the beauty and health of aging skin. Our U.S. patented transdermal technology allows the development of formulations based only on natural ingredients.

Deepline Lift™ Anti-Aging cream is appropriate for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin, and presents the newest example of the innovation that has created a core of brand-loyal customers for Nature’s Pharma®. The primary product features include triple-firming action:

  •   Stimulates the contraction of collagen fibers
  •   Protects fibroblasts against free radicals
  •  Protects elastin in the skin

Those three features offer the following benefits by reinforcing the skin’s immune defenses and boosting the epidermal regeneration:

• Reduces wrinkle depth and volume

• Softens signs of aging

• Smoothing effect on skin texture

• Visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles

• Rejuvenates skin, restoring elasticity and tone

• Improves skin’s resistance to irritation and excessive water loss

• Repairs skin damage

• Brightens skin tone and improves texture

• Stimulates collagen and elastin production

• Firms and tones the skin

• Stimulates epidermal proliferate activity

• Stimulates skin immune system

• Activates dermal enzymes

• Promotes faster healing due to quicker absorption and prolonged duration

All ingredients used are natural forms of vitamins, essential oils, fatty acids, and plant extracts that are well-documented for overall health and healing properties. Each ingredient has been specifically chosen based on historical data and the patented transdermal delivery technology enhances the benefits of these ingredients. An analogy might be to picture a chain-link fence which represents the skin. Most skincare products have molecules the size of a basketball. A basketball thrown at the chain link fence will not penetrate to get to the other side. Nature’s Pharma® relies on patented transdermal science to provide molecules that are the size of micro-pellets. A handful of micro-pellets thrown at the chain-link fence would make their way through the barrier quite easily. Simply put, that is the heart of Nature’s Pharma® technology.

Nature’s Pharma is a Safe Cosmetics “Champion”

“The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics released our report called Market Shift on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The report documents how we worked with cosmetics industry leaders to raise the bar for product safety and grow demand for safe products. Your company is highlighted in the report, and we hope that you will take this opportunity to promote your great work and your collaboration with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.”

In order to achieve the highest standard status of Champion, companies had to fulfill all the tenets of the Compact, which include:

• Comply with the European Union’s Cosmetics Directive, widely considered the global gold standard of cosmetics safety regulation,
• Disclose all ingredients, including ingredients in “fragrance,” which in the United States can be claimed as “confidential business information,” even when it contains hormone disrupters,  carcinogens and other harmful chemicals,
• Publish and regularly update product information in EWG’s Skin Deep cosmetics database,
• Comply with any additional ingredient prohibitions and restrictions under the Compact and substitute ingredients of concern with safer alternatives, and
• Participate in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.

OUR COMPANY, Nature’s Pharma,  is a Safe Cosmetics “Champion,” which means we’re making some of the safest cosmetics out there!

Market Shift: Hundreds of Cosmetics Companies Fulfill Safe Products Pledge
Consumer demand for safer products drives fastest-growing market segment
SAN FRANCISCO –The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics announced today that 321 cosmetics companies have met the goals of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics, the Campaign’s voluntary pledge to avoid chemicals banned by health agencies outside the U.S. and to fully disclose product ingredients – a pioneering practice in the cosmetics industry. An additional 111 companies made significant progress toward those goals.
“These companies have truly broken the mold. They are leading the cosmetics industry toward safety, showing it’s possible to make products with full transparency and without using hazardous chemicals,” said Janet Nudelman, program director of the Breast Cancer Fund, a founding member of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
The new report released today, “Market Shift: The story of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics and the growth in demand for safe cosmetics,” describes the seven-year project during which the nonprofit organizations that make up the Campaign worked with companies in a unique partnership to raise the bar for safer personal care products.
More than 1,500 companies signed the Compact from its inception in 2004 until August 2011, when the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics closed the Compact project. The research team at Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database developed tools for tracking each company’s compliance with the goals of the Compact. Through these tools, the Campaign determined that 321 companies achieved “Champion” status by fulfilling the goals of the Compact, and an additional 111 companies reached “Innovator” status by getting most of the way there.
The report describes how these companies – from small mom-and-pop businesses to some of the largest businesses in the natural products sector – are setting a new high-bar standard for personal care products. The Champions are demonstrating best practices by:
Making effective products without using ingredients prohibited for use in cosmetics in other countries.
Disclosing all their ingredients, including those that make up “fragrance,” showing that it’s not necessary to hide these ingredients from the public.
Working together with nonprofit health groups to increase market demand for safe, sustainable products and practices.
“Congratulations to all the Champions and Innovators. Their ability and willingness to work toward the Compact requirements shows not only that it is possible to make products that far exceed current safety standards in the United States, but also that making safe personal care products can be part of a successful business model,” said Mia Davis, organizing director of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and coordinator of the new Safe Cosmetics Business Network.
“Due to consumer demand for products made without hazardous chemicals, natural and safe cosmetics are now the fastest-growing segment of the $50 billion cosmetics industry.”
Although the Compact project is completed, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics will continue to advocate for safe, healthy products for all consumers by working with a broad range of companies in the new Safe Cosmetics Business Network and by working with voters and Congressional leaders to pass the Safe Cosmetics Act, which will update the 1938 cosmetics regulations that are failing to protect health.

Peptide Lash with Grape Stem Cell

Peptide Lash with Grape Stem Cell

Regenerates lashes resulting in thicker, fuller, and longer looking lashes

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nature’s Pharma technologically advanced Peptide Lash with Grape Stem Cell is an innovative approach that combines a blend of peptides and grape stem cell which act in synergy to produce dramatically thicker, fuller and longer eyelashes. After two weeks, Peptide Lash with Grape Stem Cell has been shown to clinically increase the appearance of the length and lashes were noticeably thicker.

KEY BENEFITS

• Extends the life of essential cells

• Conditions eyelashes for a naturally fuller appearance

• Enhance lash volume

• Lashes appear longer and thicker

SCIENCE

The growth cycle of an eyelash is divided into three stages:

Anagen: Referred to as the active growth phase. At this stage only 40 percent of the upper lashes and 15 percent of the lower lashes are in active growth at any one time. This phase can last up to 7 weeks.

Catagen: Referred to as the lag or resting phase, the growth stops and no pigment is made. The base of the follicle then shrinks up towards the surface of the skin. This phase can last for a maximum of 3 weeks.

Telogen: Referred to as the final or shedding phase, it is the longest phase which can last three to four months. New hair begins to grow from the follicle; as it pushes higher, the old hair will shed naturally. Each lash is on its own cycle, therefore, all lashes do not all shed simultaneously.

Stem cells are the most important cells found in the epidermal layer of the skin and are involved in continuous skin growth and regeneration of new hair and hair pigment. If cells are harmed by ultraviolet (UV) radiation, their power to regenerate will be jeopardized. Therefore it is essential that we replenish lost skin stem cells, which can be achieved by using products with plant stem cells.

Peptide Lash with Grape Stem Cell promotes regeneration of skin & hair by increasing the duration and speed of the Anagen phase. Myristoyl Pentapeptide a botanical derived active stimulates cells and keratin genes. Grape Stem Cells regenerate damaged tissues while maintaining a balance of cells within the skin. These technologically advanced ingredients work together in synergy to regenerate the development of new hair.

Give Nature a Chance

Many times I am asked, “If your products work so well, why doesn’t my doctor know about them?” Doctors receive their facts regarding drugs from drug companies, and the bottom line is that drug companies will push chemicals that are cheap to produce and have cleared the FDA’s approval. The truth is that the FDA (Federal Drug Administration) plays a major roll in “protecting” us from products that do not withstand years of clinical testing which demands millions of dollars. A drug company who lays out millions of dollars to bring a product to market can’t patent an all-natural product. If that all-natural product can’t be patented they will not invest the time or the money to manufacture and market such a product.

Natural products have always lurked in the underground of alternative remedies. Natural products are scoffed at by doctors and heavily restricted by government regulations. The FDA still controls the claims that can be made on labels, BUT the educated consumer is changing how we look at the all-natural approach to health and skin care.

Our bodies are equipped with a mechanism to heal itself. If given proper nutrition your body and your skin can repair and rebuild themselves to a healthy state. Feeding your skin from both the inside with a healthy diet and supplements, and from the outside using ingredients on your skin that nourish the surface can make a world of difference in the condition of your skin.

When was the last time your dermatologist asked you about your diet? My guess is never. I am sure you have heard the phrase, “you are what you eat” but never thought about how this relates to skin care. It is possible that what you don’t eat can be more influential than what you do eat. Dermatologists are quick to tell you what triggers an outbreak of acne and Rosacea but miss the mark when it comes to nutritional advice. Our skin is our largest living organ. Why not give nature a chance to make your skin as healthy as possible by using all-natural products and good quality dietary supplements? Taking these extra measures will help compensate for our inadequate nutrition due to our depleted soils and “fast food” lifestyles.

An increase in your consumption of fish and fish oils can be very beneficial to healthy skin. A well respected nutritionist in our area highly recommends a tablespoon of cod liver oil mixed into 4 oz. of orange juice daily to increase your levels of vitamins A and D. Taking cod liver oil orally may not be the tastiest method of insuring your skin’s health, but cod liver oil is an excellent dietary supplement. It is also recommended that we drink 6 to 8 glasses of pure filtered water per day. One of our skin’s functions is to eliminate waste and toxins from our bodies. Good quality drinking water is very important for that function because it promotes waste elimination through our bowels and kidneys rather than through our skin.

Dr. Linker, PhD, an expert in nutrition and herbology stresses the importance of Essential Fatty Acids in our diets for good skin health. She also recommends supplementation of vitamins C, E, D and calcium as beneficial nutrients that need to be increased in our daily intake.

When applied directly to the skin our all natural Healing Oil with vitamins A, C, and E is an excellent source for essential fats and mimics the same chemical makeup as the oil in our skin. Good nutrition, all natural ingredients and quality supplementation can do wonders to promote healthy skin for life.

Moisturizing: Undervalued and Misunderstood

Moisturizing is a common topic of many skin care publications.  Often times you read one theory on the need to moisturizer and the next time you see conflicting information.  So what is the best method to maintain healthy, glowing skin?

In search of good basic information, I have gathered some facts that make good sense to me that I would like to share with you.

First, why does it matter how much moisture the skin has?   Well, first of all, lack of water in or around cells disrupts normal metabolism and tissue repair.  Therefore, dehydrated skin has a decreased capacity for repair and regeneration.  By itself, dry skin is not the major cause of wrinkles and other signs of skin aging.  However, since dry skin has a decreased capacity to heal, it is far more susceptible to various forms of skin damage such as sun exposure.  Dry skin is also more prone to skin infections and irritants because it has many tiny cracks allowing the offenders to sneak in.

In other words, it makes good sense to have a well-moisturized skin.  Even though moisturizing will not lift your eyelids or reverse wrinkles (except maybe recent fine lines), it will help slow down any further damage and allow other treatments to work better.  In fact, if your skin is excessively dry, most skin care treatments have a far less chance to produce desired results.

We know well-moisturized skin is somewhat less prone to developing wrinkles so what else can we do to hydrate our skin?  Many experts tell us drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day ensures proper hydration of the body and helps reduce skin dryness.  They recommend drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day.  Coffee and sodas are not a good substitute for water because they contain caffeine, which is a diuretic and promotes excretion of water via urine.

Moisturizing from the inside means keeping the body well hydrated. When dehydrated, the body preserves the water supply to critical organs, such as the brain and the heart, but “cuts off water” to peripheral organs such as skin. Therefore, keeping the body well hydrated is an important part of keeping your skin well moisturized.

What things to avoid excessive dryness…

Be careful what you use to wash your face and how often.   Too many cleansers or soaps contain harsh ingredients that strip your skin of the so-called “acid mantle”, an oil-rich protective film that locks moisture inside the skin and prevents bacterial and other infections.  Skin without the acid mantle dries up very quickly.  Even plain water can make your skin excessively dry if you wash it too often.  Generally, cleansing should be limited to once or twice a day.  (Actually, I prefer once a day if you have Rosacea or sensitive skin.  A little dirt is better than over cleansing in my opinion).  It is best to use a very gentle moisturizing cleanser or facial soap that does not contain any alcohol, which removes the skin’s acid mantle.   The last step is to then moisturize right after washing.

As most of you know, I am a strong advocate of getting out in the sun and having some fun.  The sun is a valuable and vital component to a healthy body.  Sunlight is a great source of Vitamin D, which has been linked to preventing many diseases.  At the same time, the sun and wind can take its toll on drying your skin.  That is why I stress the importance of using high quality moisturizers.  Our Healing Oil with vitamins A, C & E along with sunscreen (SPF 30) not only gives you great protection from the sun, but also lasts much longer and keeps your skin hydrated throughout the day.

The true value of your moisturizer should be measured by how often you need to apply it, what are the ingredients and how does it benefit your skin.

If you are interested in an all-natural, true anti-aging moisturizer that promises more youthful and healthy skin, please check out our Healing Oil with vitamins A, C & E on our website: http://www.natures-pharma.com/

Bright White with Squalane

~Available September 1, 2010 ~

Brightens skin and lightens discoloration and age spots

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nature’s Pharma  Bright White with Squalane is clinically proven to produce a significant lightening effect on the skin, at the same time fights against photo-aging. Actives inhibit melanin production on par with hydroquinone and more effectively than the common skin brightening agents. Unlike other de-pigmenting agents that can cause photo-irritation, Bright White can help prevent UV-induced skin damage and is safe showing neither cytotoxic effects of hydroquinone, nor any irritation or sensitization reaction. This remarkable lightening solution also contains Squalane, a natural rich ingredient from olives and a secret weapon in the fight against aging. Squalane delivers the needed nutrients into the various depths of your skin and restores the natural protective barrier at skin surface. Nature’s Pharma  Bright White combines whitening, brightening, and anti-aging properties in one. Providing a multitude of benefits, tests have shown that when treated with Bright White, there was a significant brightening effect after 30 and 60 days of treatment.

KEY BENEFITS

• Improves skin texture and smoothness

• Reduces appearance of abnormal pigment

• Protects against future discoloration

SCIENCE

The color of skin is determined mainly by the amount, distribution and type of melanin, a pigment produced by melanocyte cells in a process called melanogenesis. Melanin synthesis takes place in melanosomes, which contain specific enzymes controlling the production of the pigments. The first step of melanogenesis is mediated by tyrosinase, a key enzyme that catalyses the first two reactions of melanin synthesis. Abnormal accumulation of melanin is responsible for hyper-pigmentations, which could be a serious aesthetic problem.

DIRECTIONS

Use twice daily on affected areas or all over face to brighten.

INGREDIENTS

Squalane, Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate.

Silhouette Slimming and Cellulite Lotion

Inhibits and Eliminates Fat Storage to Get Rid of

Existing Cellulite

Prevents the Formation of New Fat Cells

Available July 1, 2010

www.natures-pharma.com

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This scientifically-proven formula is a powerful treatment that visibly reduces existing cellulite as it inhibits free fatty acid production while stimulating lipolysis, which recycles these fatty acids into energy.

Nature’s Pharma  Silhouette Slimming and Cellulite Lotion uses an innovative mode of action, inhibiting the formation of new blood cells which suppresses cell maturation and forces the adipocytes (fatty cells)

to stay dormant, non-operational and in a non-fat storing form.

 KEY BENEFITS

 • Restricts & eliminates the storage of fats

• Tones and firms skin

• Reduces cellulite and prevents future cellulite formation

THE PROBLEM

Caused by clumps of fat cells that push up against surrounding fibrous connective tissue, Cellulite is the result of the inherent thinning of skin’s support structure, making fat cells more obvious. Heredity, skin thickness, gender, the amount and distribution of body fat, and age can all influence the extent to which cellulite is present or visible.

While cellulite is more common in women than men, men can also be affected. Cellulite occurs in people of all races living all around the globe. Although female hormones may play a role in contributing to this pattern of fat distribution, cellulite is not treatable by hormone therapy.

THE SOLUTION

To Inhibit, Eliminate, and Prevent the formation of Cellulite! Nature’s Pharma Silhouette Slimming and Cellulite Lotion helps inhibit and eliminates fat storage, getting rid of existing cellulite, while maintaining your silhouette and preventing new fat from forming.

Four steps to a normal pH level

Some skin problems, like acne, dryness and irritation, are often a result of a pH imbalance. This is actually a reflection of the pH level of the skin’s acid mantle, a thin, protective layer of sweat and sebum that sits on the outermost layer of the skin. You can help balance your pH level, and ultimately correct these issues, by trying the following:

1. Start with the right cleanser, sticking to mild ones. Most glycolic acids are buffered and offer up the skin-smoothing benefits of an AHA without the irritation and redness that often accompany them. Look for lipid-free formulas that protect skin’s barrier function. If your cleanser stings, it’s probably too acidic for you.

2. Add back lost moisture. With age, oil production begins to taper off. Once the skin is less capable of producing a decent amount of oil, the acid mantle becomes affected. Try a heavy moisturizer that creates a barrier or oil if your skin is extremely dry.

3. Drink lots of water. Water is naturally alkaline and adding in lemon or lime helps to create an even more alkaline environment internally. Steer clear of sodas, which are very acidic; plus, overexposing the body to sugar increases glycation and speeds up the aging process.

4. Limit skin’s exposure to water. The acid mantle itself acts like a repellent of sorts, since water can loosen the skin’s outermost layers, making it more susceptible to damage and dehydration. Always bathe in tepid water and restrict your showers to five minutes.

Nature’s Pharma has made choosing the right cleanser easier.  Try our AHA Cleanser 10% Glycolic, Wheat Germ Oil Soap or our Pearlescent Cleanser.  To learn more or to place an order, please visit our website http://www.natures-pharma.com  today!
